A family in Kangai Ward, Mwea Constituency, has become the centre of attention after a man left home following the birth of triplets, citing overwhelming financial pressure.

According to Kameme TV, the man’s wife gave birth to three newborn babies at once, a situation that quickly turned into a major emotional and financial challenge. The couple already had two other children, bringing the total to five, including the newborns.
The man admitted to struggling to cope with the rising cost of caring for infants, especially basic needs such as milk, nappies, and medical expenses. Overwhelmed, he left home for a short period, a move that sparked concern within the family and the wider community.
“I had gone because I could not handle it. But now I am back,” he said.
However, he later returned, attributing his decision to a change of heart. In his words, he said:

“God brought me back to my senses,” signalling a reconciliation with his family and a renewed commitment to support his children.

The situation gained public attention after a local politician, Wangeci Warui, visited the family and shared a heartfelt message on Facebook. The leader described the birth of the triplets as “triple blessings in Komboini, Kangai Ward,” praising the family’s newest additions as a rare and joyful gift.
In the post, the politician compared the visit to the biblical story of the wise men visiting baby Jesus, writing that children are a blessing from God and a symbol of hope and the future.
She congratulated the family and wished the newborns good health, wisdom, and favour as they grow, while encouraging unity and support for vulnerable households facing similar challenges.
