Naivasha Girls High School was closed indefinitely, and all students were sent home following a tense night of unrest where students were screaming and throwing stones.
Why were Naivasha Girls students sent home?
The screaming and throwing stones required the intervention of the police, and the school administration sent the students home.
The unrest happened shortly after the tragedy at Utumishi Girls High School, which claimed the lives of 16 innocent students.
A devastating dormitory fire, which was started by seven fellow students, left 16 dead and injured several others.

This tragedy and the subsequent tensions have sparked widespread concern, resulting in unrest and increased security measures across several schools in the region.
Sonko, while driving around, his SUV bumped into some students who were walking on the road to the terminus, which was approximately 4 kilometres, and they revealed to him that they lacked transport fees.
“Hi girls, how are you? Why are you walking?” he asked them, and some of them screamed.
“We have been released right now and we are going to Nakuru. We are going to find some car,” one student said.
“Let me give you fare. Only students who have no fare call them all. Those who are walking, we cannot leave them in trouble,” he responded.
The politician was seen handing out notes to the girls, who thanked him before they headed home. When he saw students scrambling, he insisted that he was a rich man.
In his caption, the former governor revealed that seeing the students struggle touched his heart and he sympathised with them.
“After the unrest and closure of Naivasha Girls High School, many students whose parents could not make it to the school were forced to walk nearly 4 kilometres to the Naivasha bus terminus so they could connect to their various home destinations. Seeing their struggle touched my heart. I sympathised with them and offered some assistance for bus fare and food for their journey home. It was a small gesture, but one aimed at easing their burden during a difficult and uncertain moment,” he said.
