Mr Ibu’s wife breaks down in tears as she responds to her stepson’s claims of selling his properties (Video)

Stella Marris, the widow of the late veteran actor John Okafor, better known as Mr Ibu, has broken her silence on her stepson’s accusations.

Kemi Filani reported that Stella and her kids, while speaking to influencer King Mitchy, lamented their plight, revealing that they now fetch water from a well because she hasn’t been able to pay their house rent. She said their light has been cut off for two months, and they have to rely on others to charge their phones.

Speaking out, Mr Ibu’s son disclosed that their late father left many properties to all his children, but Stella chose to take everything for herself and her own children. He claimed that she sold one of Mr Ibu’s houses in Lagos for N60 million, another property in Lagos for over N17 million, and also sold the one in Asaba for N11 million. He further claimed that she squandered over N66 million that the public had contributed during Ibu’s illness.

Responding to his claims, Stella, in a follow-up interview with King Mitchy, denied his allegations. She stated that before she sold his property in the village, she consulted with the late actor’s other children, and that the proceeds from the sale of the land, N17 million, were used to foot the bill for his funeral.

According to her, the court shared the property among them, and it was her late husband’s two sons and she who jointly agreed to sell the properties. She said the court ruled that one-third of his estate belongs to his legitimate wife.

She added that throughout her marriage to the late actor, he never disclosed that he had been previously married or that he had fathered children with other women.

Giving an update on their financial situation, King Mitchy disclosed that well-meaning Nigerians had contributed a total of N7.6 million towards their upkeep.

Also, responding to her statement, Stanley questioned how she could be soliciting for help just two years after her husband’s death. He questioned what she needed it for, noting that the late actor had left N66 million in his account.

Refreshing your memory, Mr Ibu was married five times. Four of his marriages ended in separation and divorce.

His fifth wife, Stella Marris Okafor, was his final and most well-known wife before his demise.

During the actor’s illness, blogger, Gistlover, claimed his wife wanted to take over the donation money to fund her lavish lifestyle as she was always talking about buying an iPhone 15 and new cars. The blog also claimed that Mr Ibu’s wife had used her account to get N1 million from the donation.

Reacting to it, Stella Maris alleged that his adopted daughter, Jasmine was trying to make her an outsider in her marriage. Describing her statement as malicious, she vowed to address Jasmine’s excessive interference in her family affairs and other related matters.

Refuting her claims, Mr Ibu’s son, Daniel revealed that he was the one in charge of the actor’s account. According to him, he is the signatory to the account and his next of kin. He stated that there was no truth in Stella Maris’ allegations as Jasmine didn’t have access to his account.
