A Nigerian woman has sparked debate online after reportedly being sent out of her matrimonial home by her husband’s sisters following a family disagreement.
The story was shared by a market trader, who said the woman is one of her customers and is now seeking advice on whether to return to her husband’s house.
According to the account, the woman claimed that whenever she and her husband have disagreements, he usually invites his two unmarried elder sisters to intervene.
Sisters allegedly took brother’s side
She alleged that the sisters would often come to their home, insult her and openly support their brother during marital disputes.
Three weeks ago, another disagreement reportedly broke out between the couple, and the sisters again came to their home.
However, unlike previous occasions, the woman decided to defend herself and allegedly insulted the sisters in return.
Woman reportedly sent out of matrimonial home
The situation then escalated, with the sisters allegedly becoming angry, packing the woman’s belongings and throwing her out of the house.
She reportedly left the home with her son and returned to her mother’s residence, while her husband did not intervene.
According to the account, the husband later contacted her, apologised and expressed a desire to reconcile and settle their differences.
Husband’s condition sparks reactions
Despite seeking reconciliation, the husband reportedly insisted that his wife must first kneel before his sisters and apologise to them before she can return to the matrimonial home.
The woman is now seeking advice on whether she should apologise and return to her husband’s house or remain with her mother.
