According to her account, the incident came to light only after she had already resigned from the job. She says she later received a video clip from her former boss, who used the footage to justify dissatisfaction with her work performance.

The video reportedly showed her cleaning the dining area in a manner the employer considered improper, including dragging a cleaning rag across the floor using her feet instead of her hands.

The employer allegedly pointed to the clip as evidence that she was not meeting expected household standards.

The former househelp says she felt humiliated and betrayed upon receiving the footage, explaining that she had not been informed that her daily activities were being closely monitored or recorded for performance evaluation purposes. She adds that the experience has left her deeply discouraged and unwilling to continue working in domestic service.

“ After seeing that video, I don’t think I can go back to that kind of work again,” she said.

The incident has sparked broader discussion online about surveillance in private homes, employee dignity, and expectations placed on domestic workers. While some argue that employers have a right to ensure quality service within their homes, others say constant monitoring without clear consent raises ethical concerns.

As the debate continues, the former househelp says she is now reconsidering her career path entirely, hoping to find work in a different field where she feels more respected and secure.
