NAN MD pledges renewed commitment to ethical journalism at 60 

Malam Ali Muhammad Ali, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), has reaffirmed his commitment to ethical journalism, promoting service to humanity and transformation of the agency as he marks his 60th birthday.

In a statement on Sunday, he described the milestone as a point for deeper reflection and renewed dedication to national development.

Ali said: “It is a great pleasure to reach this age in good health and prosperity.

“This new milestone offers a new dimension to my life.

“Attaining 60 is not just a personal achievement; it is a call to further dedicate myself to the service of our country, its people, and humanity at large.”

Ali expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and for entrusting positions of responsibility to Nigerians based on merit.

He said: “I must thank the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his belief in entrusting leadership to Nigerians based on merit.

“The birthday message I received from Mr President serves as a powerful tonic for rededication and a clear call to intensify my service to the nation.”

The NAN chief said his tenure would continue to focus on strengthening the agency’s core values and accelerating ongoing reforms to position the agency as a benchmark for excellence in the media industry.

Ali added: “I will continue to bear the flag of national cohesion, ethical journalism, and balanced reportage in both my official and private life.

“My focus remains on deepening the reforms at NAN to uphold the legacy of our founding fathers and ensure that the agency continues to operate at the highest global standards.”
