The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps) has dismissed five volunteer personnel attached to its Kano State Command over allegations of unethical conduct, unprofessionalism, and gross indiscipline.
The affected personnel are Yakubu Mubarak Yusuf, Isma’il Muhd, Adamu Auwalu, Abdulrazaq Suleiman, and Ahmad Sarki.
Their dismissal was approved by the State Commandant, Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama, following what the Corps described as a thorough consideration of their misconduct, which was found to be contrary to the organisation’s ethics, operational standards, and core values.
This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Command Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi.
According to the statement, the decision forms part of ongoing efforts to sanitise the volunteer structure and enforce discipline within the command.
“All uniforms, accoutrements, identification materials, and other operational kits issued to the affected volunteer personnel have been withdrawn and seized by the Command,” the statement said.
The command further directed area commanders, divisional officers, and other operational units across Kano State to ensure strict compliance with the dismissal order, warning that the affected individuals must no longer be recognised or engaged in any official capacity on behalf of the Corps.
Reiterating its disciplinary stance, the command stressed that it maintains a zero-tolerance policy for conduct capable of undermining the image and credibility of the service.
“The NSCDC Kano State Command remains committed to professionalism, integrity, and efficient service delivery in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities,” the statement added.
The Corps warned that any personnel—regular or volunteer—found engaging in acts of indiscipline or conduct capable of tarnishing its reputation would face strict disciplinary action in line with established procedures.
