The Ogun State Police Command has announced the arrest of two suspects in Ijebu-Ode believed to be connected to a kidnapping and murder incident in Edo State.

According to Police sources, the suspects — identified as 25-year-old Gafaru Adamu and 20-year-old Muhammed Sanni — were apprehended in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode during an intelligence-led operation by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.

Investigators revealed that the duo was allegedly part of a seven-man kidnapping syndicate linked to the killing of two hostages in Okada, Edo State.

During the operation, Police recovered a pair of camouflage uniforms resembling Police attire and three mobile phones, which have been taken into custody as exhibits.

Police authorities emphasized that while the arrests were made in Ogun State, the crimes under investigation occurred in Edo. In line with inter-state policing procedures, the suspects and recovered exhibits will be handed over to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the swift action and professionalism of the operatives involved.

CP Ojajuni assured residents that Ogun State will not be allowed to serve as a hideout for criminal elements, stressing that intelligence-driven strategies and inter-state collaboration remain central to the Command’s security efforts.

The Police urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue providing credible information to aid law enforcement.
