The Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Muhibat Titilola Rufai, has reassured residents, traders, motorists and other road users that the rehabilitation of the Volks-Alaba-Ajangbadi Road corridor remains a top priority of her administration.
The road, which stretches from Volks through Olojo Drive to Igbede Road, serving Alaba International Market and Ajangbadi communities, is a critical economic and transportation route within Ojo Local Government.
The Chairman informed residents that since assuming office, she has consistently engaged and appealed to the Lagos State Government to expedite the comprehensive reconstruction of the road.
She stated that she has not relented on advocating strongly for urgent intervention and remains committed to ensuring that the concerns of residents receive the attention they deserve.
Recognizing the importance of the road to commercial activities, daily commuting and the overall well-being of residents, the Chairman has maintained close communication with relevant state authorities to facilitate a lasting solution.
While awaiting the commencement of the full reconstruction project by the Lagos State Government, Ojo Local Government has commenced palliative repairs on the most affected sections of the road. The intervention is aimed at improving vehicular movement, reducing travel time and enhancing safety for all road users.
The Chairman has also directed relevant departments of the Local Government to closely monitor and supervise the ongoing palliative works to ensure timely and satisfactory execution.
Hon. Muhibat, therefore appealed to residents, market operators, transport unions and motorists along the Volks-Olojo Drive-Igbede Road corridor to remain calm, patient and supportive as efforts continue toward achieving a permanent and sustainable solution.
She reaffirmed that Ojo Local Government, under her leadership, remains committed to improving infrastructure, promoting economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
