Olise not for sale, Bayern president warns Real Madrid

Bayern Munich have dismissed speculation linking Michael Olise with a move to Real Madrid, insisting the French winger is not for sale despite reports of a potential €150m bid from the Spanish giants.

The Bundesliga champions issued the warning amid growing reports that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is considering a blockbuster move for the former Crystal Palace star as part of plans following his re-election.

Bayern president Herbert Hainer moved quickly to shut down the rumours, stressing that the club has no intention of entertaining offers for one of its key players.

Hainer said: “Michael Olise is a Bayern player and has a long-term contract.

“We are not a selling club. If Florentino Perez wants to send us an offer – which hasn’t happened so far – he can save himself the trouble.”

The statement underlines Bayern’s determination to keep hold of the winger, who has become an important figure at the Allianz Arena.

The club’s position mirrors comments previously made by honorary president Uli Hoeness, who also rejected suggestions that Bayern could cash in on the player.

Hoeness said: “Sell Michael Olise for €200 million?

“He won’t be sold.

“We play this game for our fans.

“We have 430,000 members, we have millions of fans all over the world, and it doesn’t help them much if we have €200 million in the bank but play worse football every Saturday because of it.”

Reports in Spain have linked Olise with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, with claims that Perez is prepared to authorise a record-breaking offer for the France international.

The speculation intensified following Perez’s re-election as Real Madrid president.

The veteran club chief has often been associated with major signings during previous terms in office and recently outlined his determination to maintain Real Madrid’s success.

Perez said: “I’m still here. The members know me. I’m here to defend Real Madrid. We’re going to keep working so that Real Madrid continues to win titles.”

While Perez did not mention Olise directly, reports have suggested the winger is among the names being linked with a potential squad rebuild.

For now, Bayern’s message remains clear, with the German champions insisting that neither €150m nor even €200m would be enough to tempt them into selling one of their prized assets.
