Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed gratitude to the people of the state following what he described as a “clean sweep” at the polls, celebrating the outcome as a reaffirmation of public confidence in his administration.
Speaking shortly after the announcement of the election results, Oyebanji thanked voters across the 16 local government areas of the state for their support, commitment to democracy, and peaceful conduct during the electoral process.
The governor said the outcome of the election reflected the trust and confidence that residents have placed in his government, promising to intensify efforts aimed at delivering good governance, infrastructure development, and improved welfare for citizens.
According to reports, Oyebanji dedicated the victory to the people of Ekiti State, noting that the election result was a collective achievement rather than a personal triumph.
“This victory belongs to the people of Ekiti. The clean sweep recorded across the state demonstrates the confidence our people have in our administration and our commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy,” he said.
The governor also commended party leaders, campaign officials, security agencies, and electoral officials for ensuring a peaceful and credible process. He urged political stakeholders to place the interest of the state above partisan considerations and work together for continued development.
Supporters and members of the ruling party celebrated the outcome in several parts of the state, describing the result as an endorsement of the administration’s policies and developmental projects.
Political observers noted that the governor’s emphasis on unity and inclusive governance could help reduce post-election tensions and foster cooperation among political actors in the state.
Oyebanji assured residents that his administration would remain focused on economic growth, youth empowerment, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development. He pledged to continue implementing policies aimed at improving living standards and attracting investment to the state.
He further called on residents to remain peaceful and continue supporting government initiatives, stressing that the administration would serve all citizens regardless of political affiliation.
The governor concluded by reaffirming his commitment to transparency, accountability, and people-oriented governance, stating that the renewed mandate would inspire his administration to work harder for the progress and prosperity of Ekiti State.
