Nairobi, Kenya: The body of a young girl who was found in the Nairobi River, where it reportedly remained for about two weeks, has finally been retrieved.
It all started when a concerned woman shared a video online, appealing to the authorities and members of the public to help identify the child and trace her family because she had been lying in the filthy water for about two weeks now without the matter getting any attention from the authorities.

From the video shared by the kind woman, the girl is estimated to have been between five and seven years old and was reportedly dressed in a matching red outfit. Her body was in a bad state because she had been in water for a long time before they took her out.
“Finally, the body of the little girl was picked from the water and taken away to the mortuary; thanks socialmedia users for helping me report it,” said Leah Mwai.
Many people praised the kind and motherly woman who refused to look away when she sw the body of a baby in water
“You should get a job in the county government. Thumbs up, dear, for the good heart and the courage,” Juma Wendo.

Man retrieves body of 6 children
In a similar story, it emerged that Emmanuel Laizer led a group of residents to search and retrieve bodies of six primary school children.
A total of eight kids died in a school van accident, but Laizer and his team could only retrieve six bodies.
He painfully rememberd finding the bodies of a young boy and a full-grown man in a wood during the mission in Arusha.
