Scary Movie actress reveals Melania Trump joke that got cut from finished scene

Scary Movie actress Anna Faris says she wanted her character to go full MAGA for Scary Movie 6 — yet a joke about First Lady Melania Trump ended up getting cut from the final version of the film.

Faris, 49, revealed in a new interview that she pushed for her character, Cindy Campbell, to be “classic MAGA,” for the franchise’s latest installment.

“I was always pushing for Cindy to be classic MAGA rabbit hole,” she told Dexerto. “The kind of person that you saw outside of the Walmart during quarantine, that was raising some kind of crazy a** fuss.”

One comment, however, was cut before the movie reached the big screen. “There was a moment where I’m just wasted, just so drunk — I’m in my truck, of course, and I look into the rearview mirror and I say, ‘Be best, Cindy Campbell. Be best.’ That didn’t make it, but I liked my little winking there,” Faris said.

The joke was in reference to Melania Trump’s “Be Best” initiative, which was launched in 2018 to combat cyberbullying but drew widespread mockery given her husband’s history of online attacks.

“You know, what are you gonna do? You gonna be mad at Cindy?” Faris joked. “I’m in a movie that is truly the most offensive movie ever made, and I’m the lead of it. And I participate in offensive ideas. I think I can kind of do anything. It liberated me.”

The beloved horror satire series returned after 13 years with the June 5 release of Scary Movie 6, reuniting the original cast of Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall and Faris.

The latest installment of the cult classic parodies several popular horror movies, such as Ma (2019), M3GAN (2022), and 2025 blockbusters Weapons and Sinners.

Despite those inclusions, the movie debuted with a brutal 32 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
