A woman has shared how a man took her out on a date and left her with a KSh 77,000 bill, which eventually landed her in jail.

According to the lady, when she arrived, the guy was seated in another section with another woman, claiming that it was a business meeting, so she didn’t suspect anything.
“She waited from 6 pm to 9 pm while he kept saying that he would come for her, occasionally checking in. She ordered a drink and food worth less than KSh 5000.Later, he even texted her asking for KSh 3000, in exchange for dollars, which she refused,”reported the woman’s sister.

“He then said he was escorting his business partner, but he disappeared and wouldn’t answer calls. When the bill came, it was KSh 77,000, and the man had made multiple reservations, ordered expensive alcohol for takeaway and put everything on her tab. It turned out that two other women had been scammed that way,”she added.
Although the woman offered to pay her bill, the restaurant refused and called the police; she and another woman were arrested while the man escaoed.
It has emerged that some men arrive early and make arrangements with the waiter to scam women and women were asked to be vigilant.
Ken O Abuna said:
“Kwani hamujui collabo inafanywa mapema na waiter. When you are invited for date in a specific restaurant and you find him there waiting thats a red flag. Deal inakuanga ishafanywa kitambo.”

“The only common thing here is women with expensive taste and bad decisions when they see an opportunity for a flashy, high end “free” access to soft-life. That’s the the only thing common here. I bet there are 1000+ plus similar cases that ending is not so happy . Wale wanasema ni when imeumana.”
