Security Tips: Man tells Nigerians what to do to get released within 24 hours if they are kidnapped

A man in a viral video has sparked widespread reactions after sharing unusual security advice for Nigerians on how to respond during a kidnapping incident.

The clip has continued to circulate across social media platforms, drawing mixed reactions from users.

In the video, the speaker addressed what he described as a security tip for people across Nigeria, suggesting an unconventional response if kidnapped.

He claimed that victims who gain access to their phones should avoid contacting security agencies and instead make a social media post.

Viral advice shared on social media

The man advised kidnapping victims to use social media as a first response tool, rather than alerting security operatives directly.

He further suggested that the post should include insults directed at a senior government official, alongside their full name, before abandoning the phone.

He was quoted as saying:

Security tip. This is a security tip for everybody in Nigeria. If you are being kidnapped by bandits, the moment you are being kidnapped, once you have access to your phone, don’t call the police, don’t call the DSS, don’t call anybody.

Just tweet. Make a social media post insulting a senior government official and insult them with their full name. Then drop your phone.

In the next 24 hours, they will find you and your location. Thank me later.”
