The calls come after students were allegedly subjected to indecent, inappropriate and intrusive searches as they returned to school following a short break
The searches reportedly took place on Monday, June 15, with parents claiming their daughters later confessed they had been searched in ways they described as bordering on sexual violation.
Students had just returned to school after being sent home following a wave of unrest in schools across the country after the Utumishi fire incident.

They had been released on June 5, 2026, and instructed to return on June 15, when the alleged inappropriate searches and frisking took place.
Parents said that, on previous opening days, students at the school, located along Dennis Pritt Road in Kilimani, would usually be welcomed by teachers at tents set up on the school grounds.
What happened at St George’s Girls Senior School?
However, this time, the teachers were nowhere to be seen, and a heavy police presence had been deployed instead.
The learners were allegedly directed to a shed where police officers in full uniform and others dressed in military fatigues were waiting.
Some of the students told their parents they were frisked and searched by a female officer who allegedly carried out highly intrusive checks, including touching their private body parts.
“My daughter said some woman purporting to be a police officer searched their bodies at the school’s tuck shop. She said the woman did not have gloves and put her fingers in her private parts. That could expose the children to illnesses,” said one parent.

Another parent said her daughter informed her that police officers only selected specific students for the drug search and subjected them to the alleged inappropriate checks.
“I asked my daughter why she did not tell me, and it broke my heart when she said nothing would have changed because the deed had already been done. No one gave consent for their children to undergo the search,” stated another parent.
The school’s chief principal, Assumpta Mwangi, later responded after parents raised complaints and shared an apology in the WhatsApp group.
Did the school take responsibility?
“When I authorised the measures that preceded the release of students on June 5, my foremost responsibility was to ensure that no risk, however small, was left unattended. I acknowledge that some of the processes and actions undertaken caused discomfort, concern or distress to some students and parents. If that was your experience, I am truly sorry,” the message read.
Mwangi later sent an official letter addressing the issue, stating that security screening would continue.
“Following consultations between the Board of Management, the P.A. Executive and the Alumni Association, it was agreed that security screening is, for the time being, a necessary measure to safeguard the welfare of learners. However, the process will be guided by clear Standard Operating Procedures that will uphold the dignity of every learner,” the letter read in part.
