The renewed commitment was expressed on Wednesday when the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NLNG, Engr. Adeleye Falade, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, at the Board’s liaison office in Lagos.
Speaking during the meeting, Falade reiterated NLNG’s commitment to advancing Nigerian Content through increased indigenous participation, local capacity development, and value retention across the company’s operations.

He disclosed that the ongoing construction of NLNG’s Train 7 project has reached 90 per cent completion, with pre-commissioning activities already underway.
According to him, the company is targeting the commissioning of the facility in 2027, a development expected to increase NLNG’s production capacity by 35 per cent.
Falade also highlighted the socio-economic impact of the project, noting that Train 7 has generated direct employment for about 16,000 people during the construction phase.
He said the project has contributed significantly to job creation, reduced insecurity, and improved economic opportunities for Nigerians.
The NLNG boss commended the longstanding partnership between the company and NCDMB, describing the relationship as instrumental to several landmark achievements within the oil and gas industry.
He expressed confidence that both organisations would continue to record greater successes under the current leadership.

“NLNG values its relationship with NCDMB and remains fully committed to the shared goal of strengthening Nigerian Content in the oil and gas industry. As a major player in Nigeria’s gas sector, we recognise our responsibility to support indigenous capacity, grow local supply chains, and ensure that our activities continue to deliver meaningful value to the Nigerian economy,” Falade said.
He added that the company would continue to focus on practical areas of collaboration with the Board, including vendor development, skills enhancement, technology transfer, local procurement, and value retention.
“Our commitment is to work closely with the Board in a manner that is deliberate, measurable, and impactful. We want NLNG’s operations and partnerships to continue opening doors for Nigerian businesses, building competitive local capabilities, and supporting the long-term growth of Nigeria’s gas industry,” he added.
Responding, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB congratulated Falade on his appointment and assured him of the Board’s support in achieving the objectives of his administration.
Ogbe noted that the relationship between NCDMB and NLNG extends beyond that of a regulator and an operator, recalling that both organisations signed the industry’s first Service Level Agreement (SLA) on Nigerian Content project approvals and compliance in June 2017.
According to him, the agreement later became a model for other stakeholders in the oil and gas sector.
The NCDMB boss also urged NLNG to strengthen its support for the Brass Shipyard project, which serves as the Capacity Development Initiative linked to the Train 7 project.
He commended the company for collaborating with the Board on the project, describing the proposed drydock facility as a critical infrastructure asset that would benefit both NLNG and the wider Nigerian economy.
Ogbe expressed optimism that the project would be completed within the tenure of the current NLNG management, creating additional employment opportunities and accelerating industrial development.
The meeting formed part of NLNG’s broader engagement with key stakeholders in the energy sector and underscored both organisations’ commitment to promoting local content, strengthening indigenous capacity, and expanding economic opportunities across Nigeria’s oil and gas value chain.
