U.S. President Donald Trump has said recent American military strikes in Nigeria significantly reduced the killing of Christians, claiming key leaders behind the attacks were eliminated during the operation.
Speaking in a video circulating online, Trump said:
“We recently struck Nigeria and largely ended the slaughter of great Christian populations… We knocked out their leader, we knocked out their second leader, and their third leader.”
He also warned that extremist groups seek to shut churches and target Christians, adding, “They will close your churches… they will kill your people. That’s what they’re about. They want to end religion.”
