Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido has criticized former presidential aide Reno Omokri over his explanation for not yet resuming his diplomatic duties in Mexico.
Omokri, who appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today, discussed the delay in his assumption of office as Nigeria’s ambassador to Mexico. He stated that his absence was linked to the ongoing World Cup being hosted across the United States and Mexico, adding that Mexico had not rejected his appointment and suggesting that political opponents were behind narratives questioning his status.
However, his comments did not sit well with Davido, who reacted on his Instagram story, strongly condemning the former aide and making derogatory remarks in response to his explanation.
Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has continued to face public scrutiny over the controversy surrounding his delayed resumption, which has sparked mixed reactions online.
