The alleged drugging and robbery in Utawala

The post accompanying the footage explained that a friend of the person who shared the video had recently lost several valuable household items under suspicious circumstances, with the loss linked to the two women seen in the clip.

“We are sharing these in the hope that anyone who may recognise them can come forward with information,” the post read, urging residents of Utawala and surrounding areas to remain vigilant when interacting with strangers.

Mchele, a street term for a drug slipped into a victim’s drink, has become a growing concern in Nairobi’s nightlife scene, with revellers increasingly falling prey to strangers they meet at bars and clubs before inviting them home.

“Mr ZZZ took a sip, and in the next few minutes, he was walking like a zombie, following every command given to him. Next, the three got in a taxi, and he actually paid for the trip with his phone, and the destination was his apartment; the ladies were seen entering the premises and using the lift with him,” he said.
