A Utumishi Girls’ School student has delivered a heart-rending poem and song in honour of her 16 schoolmates who died in a devastating dormitory fire.

Dressed in a full school uniform, the visibly shaken student crooned her heart out as she remembered the fateful night that altered their lives.
Sung in perfect Swahili, the performance was a recitation inspired by “Wimbo wa Historia,” a well-known Kenyan patriotic song originally written by Enock Ondego.
