Dressed in a full school uniform, the visibly shaken student crooned her heart out as she remembered the fateful night that altered their lives.

Sung in perfect Swahili, the performance was a recitation inspired by “Wimbo wa Historia,” a well-known Kenyan patriotic song originally written by Enock Ondego.

Through the adapted verses, she reflected on struggle, endurance, and the painful reality of losing young lives in circumstances that have shocked the nation.
