The suspect, who was reportedly caught red-handed by a motorist while traffic was at a standstill, managed to escape using an unorthodox tactic.
As the victim struggled to restrain him and place him in the boot of a car, the man removed his trousers and reached towards his backside in an apparent attempt to soil his hands with faeces.
“You are the one who has been stealing car parts from unsuspecting motorists. Put him in that boot quickly,” an onlooker was heard saying.

The suspect allegedly intended to smear the faeces on the motorist who was holding him. However, an observant onlooker spotted what he was doing and immediately alerted the victim, who quickly let go of him.
The moment he was released, the suspect sprinted away, escaping possible arrest and an angry crowd.
“Oh, he has faeces on his hands! I can’t believe he was doing that so he could smear it on you. This is unbelievable. They steal these things and sell them as second-hand spare parts,” another onlooker said amid laughter.
The unusual incident left many people both amused and shocked as they watched the suspect disappear into the crowd.
Several of the spare parts he allegedly dropped while fleeing were collected by motorists and bystanders. Some of those present picked up the parts and attempted to identify which vehicles they belonged to.
