Social media activist and influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), is currently leading the “Bandits Must Go” protest in Abuja, as demonstrators take to the streets to demand urgent action against worsening insecurity across Nigeria.
The protest, which commenced on Thursday morning, has drawn concerned citizens calling on the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts to combat banditry, kidnappings, and violent attacks affecting communities in different parts of the country.
Reports indicate that security operatives have blocked major entry points into the Federal Capital Territory, a move that has led to increased security presence around strategic locations in the city. Despite the restrictions, protesters gathered in significant numbers, carrying placards with inscriptions demanding an end to bandit attacks and improved protection for citizens.
Addressing participants, VeryDarkMan stressed the need for decisive measures to tackle insecurity, arguing that Nigerians should not continue to live in fear of kidnappers and armed groups. Protesters also called for the rescue of victims currently held captive and justice for families affected by violent attacks.
