WAWAfrica to Disburse ₦250,000 Startup Grants in July 2026

WAWAfrica has confirmed that successful applicants for its ₦250,000 Startup Grant Programme will receive grant disbursements in July 2026 following the completion of its ongoing selection and evaluation process.

The organisation announced the closure of applications for the programme after receiving entries from entrepreneurs across different parts of Nigeria. According to WAWAfrica, the grant initiative attracted ambitious founders with innovative business ideas focused on solving real problems and creating economic impact.

In a statement released after the application phase ended, WAWAfrica thanked all applicants for participating in the programme and described the response as encouraging.

“We received applications from ambitious entrepreneurs across Nigeria, and we are encouraged by the creativity, resilience, and innovative ideas shared,” the organisation said.

WAWAfrica explained that its review panel will now begin a comprehensive assessment of all eligible applications submitted for the ₦250,000 startup grant.

The evaluation process, according to the organisation, will focus on key areas including business viability, innovation and creativity, market potential, scalability, founder commitment, and social and economic impact.

The organisation said businesses with practical and sustainable models, strong market demand, and the potential to create jobs and long-term community impact will have an advantage during the assessment process.

WAWAfrica also outlined a four-stage selection process that will determine the final beneficiaries of the grant programme.

The first stage will involve application screening where all entries will be reviewed for eligibility and completeness. Shortlisted applicants will then move to the business assessment stage for detailed evaluation by the review team.

Selected finalists may also undergo verification and due diligence before the final selection of top-performing entrepreneurs who will emerge as beneficiaries of the ₦250,000 startup grant.

According to WAWAfrica, successful applicants will be contacted directly, while the official announcement of winners is scheduled for July 2026 alongside the planned grant disbursement.

The organisation added that the initiative is part of its broader mission to support entrepreneurship and help build the next generation of African entrepreneurs.

“We appreciate every entrepreneur who took the bold step to apply and wish all applicants the very best,” WAWAfrica stated.
