Another woman identified as Juliet Igwe has been arraigned before an Owerri Magistrate Court in Imo State for allegedly torturing her five-year-old house help.
According to reports, the woman scalded the child’s hands with boiling water for allegedly licking soup and also inflicted burns on the child’s body using candle wax. The victim reportedly suffered severe injuries, leading to the amputation of one of her fingers after treatment was delayed.
Juliet Igwe was arraigned on attempted murder charges and has been remanded in prison custody pending further proceedings.
