Nigerian gospel singer Adeyinka Alaseyori has sparked debate online after sharing her thoughts on the issue of kidnapped children and the fight against insecurity in Nigeria.
Speaking on the matter, Alaseyori said Nigerians should continue to pray for the country, adding that security agencies and the government are making efforts to tackle insecurity.
According to her, there are situations where security operatives may be unable to locate criminals despite being deployed to affected areas, making prayers necessary.
“We need to pray. You can’t say the President and our armed forces are not working, they’re working. They might have sent security agents to the forest and something will just cover their eyes and won’t allow them see the terrorist, that’s where prayers come in,” she said.
Her remarks quickly generated mixed reactions on social media, with many Nigerians disagreeing with her position and arguing that insecurity requires practical solutions rather than spiritual explanations.
