Why did KU graduates take long time to graduate?

Despite the extended stay, the graduates expressed excitement after earning their degrees and said they were ready to begin their professional careers.

They revealed that they graduated after seven years, three years longer than the expected four-year programme, and explained why.

“Nothing was hard. It was just a choice to study slowly and take our time. Why the hurry?” one of the graduates said as his friend stood beside him.

His colleague said he had also spent seven years at the university, insisting there was no rush to complete his studies.

KU graduates describe feelings after graduating

The pair explained that they were pursuing a Bachelor of Education Science degree, which they intentionally stretched beyond the normal four-year duration.

The Kenyatta University graduates noted that the programme included mathematics, which they described as the most challenging part of the course.

“We are feeling so good, it’s amazing to finally complete our course. If anyone is planning to join KU, we welcome them and say, ‘Welcome to the Premier University.’ They will love it here. We don’t even know where we’ll go to celebrate from here,” they said.

The graduates wore broad smiles as they celebrated the milestone, proud of overcoming the long academic journey.
