2027 Hajj: Jigawa Pilgrims Board opens registration, fixes N7.5m initial deposit

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has kickstarted preparations for the 2027 Hajj exercise by unveiling the initial deposit scheme, following what it described as the successful conclusion of the 2026 pilgrimage.

Intending pilgrims have been urged to take advantage of early registration by making an initial deposit of N7.5 million for the 2027 Hajj exercise.

Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, disclosed this in a statement by the board’s spokesman, Habibu Yarima, on Wednesday in Dutse.

Umar, who spoke during a meeting with the board’s zonal officers, said the measure was in line with its resolve to prepare for a hitch-free Hajj exercise.

He said that only 87 days remained until the September dateline set by the National Hajj and Umrah Commission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expired.

The director general tasked the officers with being vigilant, ensuring the proper allocation of Hajj seats, and sensitising intending pilgrims to the need to complete their payments on time.

He commended Governor Umar Namadi for his support to the board.
