Nigerian singer Brymo has claimed that music legend 2Baba once asked his then-wife, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, if she had ever been intimate with him.
Speaking during a recent appearance on the NotJustOk podcast, Brymo also admitted to having had relationships with married women in the past, describing it as a mistake he would not advise younger artistes to repeat.
Recalling one encounter, Brymo alleged that 2Baba confronted Annie in his presence during a meeting in 2019.
“I remember that moment in 2019 at Naomi’s office in Lekki Phase 1 when 2face looked me straight in the eyes and ask ‘Annie you don f**k Brymo?’”
The singer said his experiences taught him that getting involved with married women could have dangerous consequences.
“I met quite a number of older women who were truly married but they would tell me they were separated from their husbands. This goes to younger artistes, stop sleeping with people’s wives. They will cut your life short.”
Brymo also recounted another incident in which a woman he believed was separated from her husband invited him to perform at her younger sister’s wedding, only for him to discover that she was still married.
“One time I went to see one of my older female lovers and then she wanted me to come for the wedding of her younger sister, which I went to and I performed. And then at night, she also told me to come to their family house and perform again and I was like, that will be nice. And she said ‘our Baba will be there’. I said, your dad? She was like no, my husband. I was shocked. I was like I thought you were divorced or something. She said no. As far as I was concerned me going there was me offering myself for some form of crazy ritual. Standing there performing in front of a man whose wife you are f**king and I just couldn’t take it. So I had to bail out.”
