Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard agrees Besiktas move as details of contract revealed

Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard is edging closer to a move to Turkish club Besiktas after reaching an agreement on personal terms, according to multiple reports.

The Belgium international is expected to travel to Turkey before the end of the week as the clubs finalise the paperwork required to complete the transfer.

Reports from Turkey indicate Besiktas have agreed a contract with Trossard that will run for three years, with the option of a further season.

The deal is said to include a net annual salary of between €7 million and €8 million, plus performance-related bonuses.

Transfer documents being finalised

The Athletic reported that negotiations over personal terms are nearing completion, with the remaining paperwork now being prepared ahead of the proposed transfer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also stated that the move is awaiting Trossard’s final approval before it can be completed.

Turkish outlet Sabah reported that the 30-year-old is expected to arrive in Istanbul by Thursday, where he will undergo the remaining formalities before the transfer is officially announced.

Arsenal preparing for replacements

Besiktas are reportedly set to pay Arsenal around €20 million for the Belgian winger, with €18 million guaranteed and a further €2 million linked to performance-related add-ons.

Negotiations had been delayed while Trossard represented Belgium at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but discussions accelerated following the team’s elimination from the tournament.

Should the transfer be completed, Arsenal are expected to intensify their pursuit of Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, who has reportedly rejected another offer while waiting for the Premier League club.

The Gunners are also believed to be targeting another attacking reinforcement this summer, with Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers among the players linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton and Hove Albion in January 2023 and has since been a regular member of the squad over the past three seasons.
