ASA Europe Nominates High Chief Anthony Ikenna Obele As Honorary Patron

The Anambra State Association Europe (ASA Europe) has announced the nomination of prominent Anambra personalities into key honorary and leadership roles as the association continues its mission of promoting unity, cultural heritage, and community development among Anambra indigenes across Europe.

 

At the centre of this rare recognition is Super High Chief (Dr.) Amb. Anthony Ikenna Obele, (Okwunze Aguata, De 7 Star General) — who has been nominated as an Honorary Patron of ASA Europe.

 

The nomination of Chairman of Mekens Integrated Nigeria Ltd — High Chief Sir (Dr.) Amb. Anthony Ikenna Obele —reflects the Association’s appreciation of his remarkable contributions to entrepreneurship, leadership, philantropy, human capital building, and community development. Over the years, he has built a reputation as a respected community leader, established entrepreneur, and a strong supporter of initiatives that are aimed at improving the lives of people and strengthening community bonds.

 

His exceptional leadership and humanitarian contributions have earned him numerous national and international honours and recognitions; which included but not limited to: Doctor of Humanitarian Services and Community Development; 2021 Rainbow Hall of Fame Businessman of the Year; 2024 Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Social Impact Champion; 2024 Iconic Philanthropist of the Year; Great Achievers Award of Excellence; New National Newspaper 2024 Exceptional Business Entrepreneur of the Year; Commander of the De Imperial Philanthropic Family; Ambassador for Peace by the Universal Peace Federation; the prestigious 2025 Anambra Business Icon of the Year Award by AMTY Awards, and the most recently is his award nomination as Daily Sun Entrepreneur of the Year 2026.

 

His recognition as an Honorary Patron of ASA Europe highlights the impact of his leadership, generosity, and commitment to the growth and progress of Anambra people both at home and in the diaspora.

 

Also receiving recognition is High Chief Aloysius C. Igboeri, who holds the traditional titles of Onwa Akuruoulo Uli, Ogbuehi Ikenga Obata, and Ife Ada na Uli. High Chief Igboeri is the Chairman of Alotex Group of Companies Limited, President General of Ambassadors Cultural Club Austria, and the Chairman of Anambra Community Austria.

 

As a respected entrepreneur and community leader, High Chief Igboeri has continued to play a significant role in promoting cultural identity, unity, and the welfare of Anambra indigenes in Austria. His leadership and commitment to community service have earned him a widespread recognition and made him a notable figure within the Anambra diaspora.

The organisers of the epoch making event shall also honour High Chief Dr. Amb. Henry Iyke Mmerigwo ( Ife Uli and Onwa Alaife) with Visionary Legacy Award — as he also serves as as the Chief Guest of Honour.

 

Henry Iyke Mmerigwo, a Nigerian businessman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist from Uli in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. He is the Founder, and Chief Executive Officer of Merimerid International Limited— a business conglomerate with interests spanning real estate, mining exploration, and apartment services. He is also the visionary behind Ifenalaife Foundation, a non-governmental organization that supports education, youth empowerment, scholarships, healthcare, and humanitarian projects across Nigeria.

 

Dr. Amb. Henry Iyke Mmerigwo has received recognition for his charitable work, including support for students, community development projects, and initiatives aimed at reducing poverty and empowering young people. He has also been honored with awards for his humanitarian contributions.

His presence adds prestige to the occasion, as he joins other distinguished personalities in celebrating leadership, excellence, and service to humanity. His recognition represents the importance of acknowledging individuals whose contributions continue to inspire positive development within their communities.

Also in the list of recognition and award honour is the Chairman of City Square Mall, Awka, and Koboko Entertainment — Chief Evans Izuchukwu Emesim (Okwumereze of Ukpor Ancient Kingdom), who shall be confered as Brand Ambassador of ASA Europe , in recognition of his immeasurable contribution towards the promotion of Igbo culture, community development, human capacity building, and establishment of high- profile social organizations in the South East that have brought together well meaning Anambra billionaires and Igbo industrialists, who have channeled a portion of their God- given wealth to developing home with a common mantra of ‘ Akuluno.’

 

The ASA Europe gathering, which brings together Anambra communities across Europe, including Austria, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, will serve as a platform to celebrate Igbo rich cultural heritage, honour outstanding personalities, and strengthen the bonds of unity among Anambra sons and daughters in the diaspora.

 

Through the nomination of Chief Anthony Ikenna Obele Okwunze Aguata as Honorary Patron, alongside the recognition of High Chief Aloysius C. Igboeri and Chief Dr. Henry Iyke Mmerigwo, ASA Europe continues to demonstrate its commitment to celebrating excellence, visionary leadership, and the enduring values of the Anambra people.
