The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Taraba State for the 2027 general election, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has announced Engr. Aminu Zakari as his running mate

In a statement issued on Thursday, Bwacha said the nomination followed extensive consultations with party leaders, traditional and religious leaders, youth and women groups, political associates, and other stakeholders across the state.
According to him, the decision was reached after a careful and inclusive consultation process aimed at advancing the collective interest of Taraba State and strengthening the party ahead of the governorship election.
Bwacha described Zakari as a seasoned civil engineer and procurement professional with more than 14 years of public service experience, saying he would bring technical expertise, integrity, and strategic leadership to the ticket.
The PDP governorship candidate said the joint ticket represents unity, inclusiveness, competence, and a commitment to transparent, accountable, and people-centred governance.
He pledged that, if elected, the administration would focus on unlocking Taraba State’s economic potential, restoring public confidence in governance, and delivering meaningful development across all 16 local government areas.
Bwacha also thanked party leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and members of the public for their support and contributions to the selection process.
He called on PDP members and supporters to remain united and work together towards securing victory in the 2027 governorship election.
The announcement forms part of the PDP’s preparations for the 2027 general elections in Taraba State.
