Controversial Prophet Onye Eze Jesus Sentenced to Six Years in Prison

A High Court in Anambra State has reportedly sentenced controversial spiritual leader and self-acclaimed prophet Onyebuchi Okocha, popularly known as Onye Eze Jesus (Father of All The Mens), to six years imprisonment and imposed a ₦20 million fine after finding him guilty under the Anambra Homeland Security Law.

The judgment is part of the Anambra State Government’s ongoing crackdown on alleged ritual practices, fraudulent spiritual activities, and the preparation of charms believed to facilitate crimes such as kidnapping and internet fraud.

According to reports, the case arose from the prosecution of several high-profile native doctors and spiritual practitioners arrested during the statewide security operation launched in February 2025.

The trial judge reportedly ruled that anyone who claims to possess supernatural powers to make people wealthy through prohibited practices or who prepares charms outlawed under the Anambra Homeland Security Law is liable to imprisonment and financial penalties.

The ruling marks another significant step in the state’s campaign against criminality and practices authorities say contribute to insecurity.
