The Commander of the Enugu State Forest Guard, Dr. Akinbayo Olasoji (Rtd.), has led officers and personnel on an extensive security patrol across the Ajali Forest and the river corridor linking Ezeagu, Udi and Oji River Local Government Areas to Anambra State through the Awha Ndiagu axis.
The Command said the operation forms part of its ongoing campaign to identify and dismantle criminal hideouts, flush out kidnappers, armed bandits and other violent criminals, and prevent the forest from serving as a safe haven for illegal activities.
During the patrol, officers assessed strategic access routes, identified locations allegedly being exploited by criminal gangs, gathered actionable intelligence, and evaluated the operational readiness of personnel deployed across the forest corridor.
According to the Forest Guard, intelligence-driven patrols, search-and-clear operations, and joint missions with other security agencies will be sustained to locate and destroy criminal camps, apprehend suspects, and strengthen security across Enugu State.
The Command also appealed to residents to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could aid efforts to identify criminal hideouts, apprehend offenders, and enhance public safety across the state.
