Five Nigerian Politicians Children Graduate From UK Universities

In 2026, a number of offspring of well-known Nigerian politicians commemorated significant academic achievements following their graduation from UK universities.

As their families came together to celebrate these academic accomplishments, the year was characterized not only by political engagements and public service but also by happy personal experiences.

These are the five offspring of politicians whose degrees from UK universities were made public in 2026.

Joaquin Wike

Joaquin Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzette Wike, graduated with a Master’s Degree in Management and Technology Change from King’s College London in January 2026.

His graduation was announced by the FCT Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, via social media, where he celebrated Joaquin’s academic achievement.

The milestone attracted congratulatory messages from supporters, family members and associates of the FCT minister.

According to Olayinka, the ceremony was attended by the minister, his wife, their son Jordan Wike, Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, PDP National Vice Chairman (South South) Dan Orbih, and Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, among other family members, friends and associates who joined in celebrating the milestone.

Fatima Ganduje-Ajimobi

Fatima Ganduje-Ajimobi, daughter of former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, graduated from King’s College London in January 2026. She is married to Idris Ajimobi, son of the late former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi.

The ceremony was attended by her father, her mother Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje, the widow of the late former Oyo State governor, Dr Florence Ajimobi, her husband, and their children.

Announcing the achievement via social media, Ganduje said he had the honour of celebrating his daughter’s graduation in London, describing her journey as one marked by diligence, grace and quiet strength.

Ariwera Jonathan

Ariwera Jonathan, son of former President Goodluck Jonathan and former First Lady Patience Jonathan, graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom in 2026.

Though his course of study was not publicly disclosed, his parents celebrated the milestone. Announcing the graduation on social media, the former president congratulated his son on the achievement, saying he and his wife were proud of his hard work and wished him a successful future ahead.

Jazmyne Wike

Jazmyne Wike, daughter of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Justice Eberechi Suzette Wike, graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons) with Upper Second-Class Honours from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom in July.

Her graduation was announced by Lere Olayinka via social media.

The ceremony was attended by Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the 2027 APC governorship candidate in Rivers State, Kingsley Chinda, alongside family members, friends and associates who congratulated her on the achievement.

Oduko Soludo

Oduko Soludo, daughter of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and the state’s First Lady, Dr Nonye Soludo, graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Neuroscience from the University of Nottingham in July.

Celebrating the achievement, Mrs Soludo described her daughter’s success as the product of hard work, sacrifice and unwavering faith, adding that it showed true success is not a matter of chance but of diligence and steadfast faith in God.

She urged Oduko to remain committed to learning, strive for excellence, and always uphold humility and kindness.
