American rapper Cardi B has reacted to the intense public attention surrounding her personal life after she was recently spotted alongside Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye in Italy.
The Grammy-winning musician addressed the ongoing speculation in a video shared via her Instagram Story, shortly after photos and reports emerged of her and the Udinese shot-stopper having dinner with friends at Gio’s Restaurant, located inside the St. Regis Hotel in Venice.
Speaking about the constant focus on her private affairs, Cardi B expressed frustration over what she described as the overwhelming level of scrutiny she faces as a celebrity.
“No cap, I’m really hip hop’s Britney Spears,” she said.
The rapper noted that she is aware of many details about other celebrities’ personal lives but believes those stories often receive little attention compared to the level of interest shown in her own affairs.
“I got all the tea on these celebrities… I know who’s with who and what’s doing what. But guess what? Nobody reports about it. You want to know why? Because nobody cares,” Cardi B stated.
She further explained that even simple, everyday actions often become subjects of public discussion whenever they involve her.
“But when it comes to me… I can’t even… do anything without people talking about it. This is crazy,” she added.
Despite her concerns, the rapper acknowledged that public attention is part of the reality of being a high-profile entertainer and said she has learned to accept both the positive and negative sides of fame.
“You’ve got to take the good with the bad. It is what it is. People pay for this type of talk,” she said.
Her comments came shortly after she and Maduka Okoye were spotted spending time together with friends in Venice, Italy, leading to widespread speculation about a possible romantic connection between the two.
However, neither Cardi B nor the Nigerian goalkeeper has confirmed or addressed the dating rumours publicly.
