Aringo revealed that his family relocated to the United States through the Green Card lottery and settled in Texas, where he spent his formative years.
Like many young immigrants, he embraced the opportunities available to him and worked towards establishing a stable future.
After completing high school, he enrolled in nursing school. However, he soon changed direction, leaving his studies to join the US Navy.
The move represented an opportunity to serve his adopted country while securing a promising career path. For a time, everything seemed to be falling into place.
Behind the military uniform, however, Aringo was fighting a battle that few people could see. He admitted that he had developed a growing dependence on alcohol, a problem that gradually tightened its grip on his life.
What began as drinking eventually evolved into an addiction that affected nearly every aspect of his personal and professional life.
As the years passed, alcohol began interfering with his responsibilities and decision-making. The consequences proved devastating.
Aringo said repeated alcohol-related offences eventually cost him his position in the U.S. Navy, bringing an abrupt end to the career he had hoped would secure his future.

Losing the job was a major setback, but it was only the beginning of a much larger crisis. His legal troubles soon attracted the attention of immigration authorities.
Despite efforts by his family to help him remain in the US, the situation worsened and ultimately resulted in his deportation to Kenya.
The return home was not the fresh start many might imagine. Instead, Aringo found himself grappling with the emotional and psychological aftermath of losing the life he had built abroad.
He admitted that addiction continued to consume him even after arriving in Kenya. The struggle strained relationships with family and friends and left him feeling disconnected from the person he once was.
“I felt like I had lost my identity,” he revealed while reflecting on that difficult chapter of his life.
Adding to his challenges was a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Aringo disclosed that he lives with a mental health condition, saying it complicated his recovery journey and made overcoming addiction significantly more difficult.
The combination of substance abuse and mental illness created obstacles that often seemed overwhelming.

Yet despite the setbacks, Aringo eventually reached a turning point. Today, he says he is sober and fully committed to rebuilding his life.
Rather than hiding his past, he has chosen to speak openly about his experiences in the hope that others can learn from them.
He wants people to understand that addiction can destroy opportunities, careers and relationships regardless of a person’s background or potential.
He also hopes to raise awareness about the challenges faced by those living with mental health conditions.
By sharing his story, Aringo aims to encourage anyone struggling with substance abuse or mental illness to seek help before their situation spirals beyond control.
His journey from a hopeful teenager to a deportee fighting to reclaim his life in Kenya is a powerful reminder of how quickly addiction can unravel even the most promising future.
Now focused on recovery and personal growth, Aringo hopes his experience will inspire others to confront their struggles early and seek support before it is too late.
