The Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has ordered the immediate evacuation of waste along the Egbeda and Igando axis, with the exercise expected to be completed on Tuesday night.
Responding to complaints over refuse accumulation in the area, Wahab said: “We will clear the waste in the Egbeda and Igando axis tonight and ensure continuous patrols in the area.”
He said the patrols would help prevent indiscriminate dumping and sustain environmental sanitation after the cleanup.
The commissioner reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to keeping the city clean, stressing that the authorities would continue to enforce proper waste disposal measures across the state.
Wahab also urged residents to support government efforts by disposing of waste responsibly and complying with approved waste collection arrangements.
