A video showing the Minister of Works, David Umahi, using a shovel to inspect a concrete mix at one of the Federal Government’s ongoing road projects has sparked mixed reactions on social media.
In the viral clip, Umahi was seen examining the concrete mixture with a shovel while inspecting the construction site, with the moment quickly drawing the attention of Nigerians online.
While some social media users defended the minister, saying he was checking the concrete mix ratio rather than testing its strength, others questioned the method used during the inspection.
Selected reactions:
@InyangBiet: “You can never please Nigerians, and the comment section is a perfect reflection of that.”
@latokxmania: “Some people in this comment no even get sense. What he is doing here is checking the ratio of granite/sand/cement. But the foolish and headless people in the comment thinks he is testing it😂😂😂. You can only test concrete after it has been done.”

@alatikababa1: “This man is just fooling around because he wanted to stay as minister if Tinubu gets second term. This is not a concrete soil test Mr Minister. There are technological machines for concrete mixing test.”
