The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that Nigeria will host its Ordinary General Assembly in November.
While making the announcement, CAF President, Patrice Motsepe, described the country as “a proud football nation.”
He as speaking during a press briefing held on Wednesday in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he outlined CAF’s plans following the 2026 FIFA World Cup and highlighted key initiatives aimed at developing football across the continent.
“We’re going to meet in Abuja in Nigeria for the Ordinary General Assembly in November.
“Nigeria is a proud football nation and there’s a reason why I took it to Nigeria and there’s a reason why I’m looking at some of the countries in Africa because we have to do something very special in every one of the 54 countries on the continent, as much as we have to do something special in South Africa, in Kenya, in Cameroon, all over the continent,” he said.
The CAF president said the governing body remained committed to ensuring that football development reaches all 54 member associations, stressing that every country should benefit from the organisation’s programmes and investments.
