Former Abia State Governor and Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has expressed confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will retain power in the 2027 general election, arguing that the opposition currently lacks the strength to unseat the party.
Speaking on the political landscape ahead of the next election, Kalu claimed that the APC would emerge victorious because there is no credible opposition capable of mounting a serious challenge.
He also stated that if he were to contest the presidency, he would be President Bola Tinubu’s only genuine challenger.
“APC will win in 2027 because there is no credible opposition. If I were contesting, I would be Tinubu’s only real challenger,” Kalu said.
The remarks sparked mixed reactions online, with critics dismissing his claims and revisiting his past political record, while a few debated his influence in Nigeria’s political space.
