Social media activist VeryDarkMan has reacted to the traditional title recently conferred on him by the Oluwo of Iwo, admitting that he has already forgotten the name of his chieftaincy title just hours after receiving the honour.
Speaking in a video, VeryDarkMan joked that becoming a chief now comes with responsibilities and restrictions. According to him, he had to quickly check the title again after being asked what it was because he could no longer remember it.
“Now that I’m a chief, there are a lot of things I can’t do anymore.
“They asked me my chieftaincy title today, and I had already forgotten it.
“I had to go and read it again. The problem now is whether I’ll still remember it after one week.
“When they asked me again, I almost said ‘Tatashe (red pepper).’ 😂”
The activist also addressed some of the controversies surrounding the Oluwo of Iwo, saying he decided to honour the monarch’s invitation so he could see things for himself instead of relying on what people say online.
“People have said a lot of things about the king, including allegations that he sponsors band!ts and j!had!sts.
“That’s one of the reasons I went there—to see things for myself. In the end, he conferred a chieftaincy title on me.”
VeryDarkMan was recently honoured by the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, during a royal visit to the monarch’s palace in Osun State, where he was presented with royal regalia and a traditional title.
