Former Governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff, has accused the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, of plotting to divide Nigeria.
According to him, this is because Obi has never condemned the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), neither has he kicked again calls for the restoration of the defunct Biafra Republic.
Sheriff said this during an interview with Channels TV Politics Today programme on Monday.
He said, “Peter Obi, up to this moment, is pursuing the division of Nigeria because he believes in Biafra. He never condemns Biafra or IPOB, as he wants to divide Nigeria. He should come out and say if he doesn’t believe in the division of the country.”
Sheriff also stated that he doubts the north will vote for Obi in the next election because of his tendencies to divide the country.
