The Trump administration is drafting a proposal to ban imports of foreign-made power inverters over concerns they could be used, particularly by China, to disrupt the U.S. power grid, according to a Reuters report.
The proposed restrictions would apply to new foreign-made inverter models and could be introduced as early as this year. The rules would be issued by the Federal Communications Commission, though officials say the proposal could still be revised or dropped.
