A woman was arrested after allegedly stripping her housemaid naked and assaulting her for allegedly having an affair with her husband in Amawbia, near Awka, Anambra State.
According to reports, the employer discovered the housemaid inside her matrimonial home with her husband. The woman reportedly locked the pair inside the house before calling some of her friends, who allegedly joined her in attacking the housemaid.
The victim was reportedly stripped naked, beaten, and forced out of the compound while the incident was allegedly recorded on video. The footage later circulated on social media, drawing widespread public outrage. Watch the video

The Anambra State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that the victim reported the matter after the alleged assault. Police said three suspects were arrested in connection with the incident and that investigations commenced immediately.
According to the police, the suspects are facing allegations including conspiracy, assault, unlawful detention, and other related offences. Authorities added that the case would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The incident sparked widespread condemnation from members of the public and rights advocates, who described the public humiliation of the victim as unlawful and called for those responsible to be held accountable.
The police also urged residents to avoid taking the law into their own hands and to report suspected criminal or immoral conduct through the appropriate legal channels instead.
