Afrobeats superstar Davido has encouraged rising musicians to remain spiritually grounded as they find success in the music industry.
According to him, many entertainers tend to drift away from their faith once fame and wealth come in, a trend that has been openly acknowledged by some celebrities, particularly those who identify as Christians.
Speaking in a recent conversation with Kiss Xtra, Davido advised upcoming artistes not to abandon God after achieving success. He stressed that the entertainment industry comes with many distractions that can easily pull people away from their beliefs if they are not careful.
The singer’s message serves as a reminder to young creatives to stay focused, remain humble, and keep their spiritual values intact even as they rise in their careers.
His words…
“My advice for up-and-coming artistes, is first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me.
“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget he is the reason you are here.”
