Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has taken to social media to expose a real estate agent accused of defrauding her nephew.
In a series of Instagram posts, the actress revealed that the agent, initially operating under the name Getawaybyellie, lured clients with an offer to book a three-day stay in a short-let apartment for ₦650,000. After her nephew made payment, the agent allegedly went silent and later rebranded the Instagram page to luxurylivingbyellie to continue targeting unsuspecting victims.
Determined to get justice, Bimbo said she pursued the matter until the agent eventually refunded the ₦650,000. She shared screenshots of transaction receipts made by her sister as evidence.
The actress further alleged that the same agent swindled another of her friends out of ₦500,000 and that more victims came forward after she went public with the incident. Some of her followers also recounted their own experiences with the agent, with one fan revealing they had been reporting the account since being scammed in 2023.
Bimbo Ademoye’s posts have sparked renewed calls for vigilance among social media users when dealing with online property agents.
