The incident happened on March 29 after a service building came under an attack of Iranian strikes, the official spokesperson for the ministry, Engineer Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat, said in a statement.
“On the evening of Sunday, 29 March 2026, a service building at one of the power generation and water desalination plants was attacked as a result of the ongoing Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait,” rough translation of the statement said.
“The incident resulted in the death of one worker (of Indian nationality) and caused significant material damage to the building,” it added.
The spokesperson further said that the technical teams and emergency units immediately began their work in accordance with approved emergency plans to deal with the consequences of the incident. “This is being carried out in full coordination with security authorities and relevant agencies to secure the affected sites,” she said.

She urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumours, calling on everyone to obtain information from official sources while confirming that updates will continue to be shared transparently, as per the statement.
She stressed that the safety and stability of the electrical and water systems represent the highest priority, and that all technical teams are working around the clock with high efficiency to prepare for any emergency and ensure the continuity of vital services, the statement further read.
