Donald Trump has launched a blistering attack on Iran, claiming the country is “on the run” and “not the bully any longer” as the war in the Middle East continues to escalate.
The US sent a 15-point plan to Iran during the week as part of attempts to end the conflict. However, this was quickly rejected and even mocked by Tehran, who have sent numerous chilling warnings. Mr Trump has continued to insist talks with Iran are progressing well. Speaking at an event in Miami, Florida on Friday night, the US President said: “For 47 years Iran has been known as the bully of the Middle East but they are not the bully any longer – they’re on the run. Tonight, we’re closer than ever to the rise of the Middle East that is finally free at last from Iranian terror, aggression and nuclear blackmail. He added: “I just looked – we had another big day. They are being decimated. We are talking now, they want to make a deal.”
