Donald Trump has sparked outrage after saying he could be President for the next “nine years.” The 79-year-old attended a business summit on Monday and addressed attendees, and said that he might be President for another two terms before going on a rant about how physically and mentally well he is.
Some have interpreted the President’s comments as a threat to the 22nd Amendment of the US Constitution, which states that a person may serve no more than two terms as President. Speaking about tax policies for companies in the US, which state that businesses can deduct the costs of new facilities, Trump quipped that he might use it when he is no longer President. “When I get out of office in, let’s say, eight or nine years from now, I’ll be able to use it. I’ll be able to use it myself,” he said.
